therapy

Individuals

Link Therapy and Mediation works with adults struggling with separation, divorce, remarriage, depression, anxiety, anger, past abuse and trauma, adoption, GLBT individuals and families, sexuality, grief, chemical dependency, unemployment, or current life transitions. We also specialize in working with adolescents who have emotional or behavioral challenges such as depression, cutting, suicidal ideation, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and oppositional defiant disorder.

Couples and Families

All our providers are trained as marriage and family therapists, which means we are not only able to help with individual challenges but can also assist the whole family system and help achieve relational healing. We use a family systems focus to help identify and change problematic patterns in relationships as well as teach strategies to handle communication and conflict resolution. Our goal is to promote healthy, connected, and safe relationships between family members. We also offer parent coaching sessions to address areas in which parents feel stuck and brainstorm possible solutions to implement at home. One of our therapists is trained in sex therapy.

Reunification Therapy

This service is a process for parents and children who have not had contact for an extended period of time and need help to re-establish a healthy relationship. You can download our contract for reunification therapy here.

For reunification therapy cases involving children young enough to benefit from play therapy, we collaborate with The Creative Therapy Center in Elk River to offer a combined reunification therapy program. When you call to schedule an intake, we will help you determine if this partnership might benefit your child.

Dialectical behavior therapy

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a specialized therapy that can effectively address long-term struggles such as addiction, chaotic relationships, a sense of emptiness, emotions that consistently feel out-of-control, and a lack of coping skills. It is meant to help clients create a life worth living, one based on their personal values. We collaborate with Bridging Hope Counseling and Inside Out Life Development to provide a DBT program. See our Groups tab for more information.
